About Me

dai_cards
I spent seven years as a member of the MIT Blackjack Team that inspired the major motion picture ‘21’ and the New York Times bestseller ‘Bringing Down the House.’  I have appeared on HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel and the Adam Corolla Show, and have been featured in USA Today, the New York Times, and dozens of other newspapers, magazines, television shows, and radio programs around the world.

Since retiring from playing, I have taken my mathematical skills and the experience I gained at the blackjack table and have successfully started three distinctively different businesses, with total combined revenues of over $30 million. I am the owner and founder of Blackjack VT, an online interactive virtual training system designed to teach people the card counting system I used on the MIT Blackjack Team.  I also partnered with Mike Aponte to create The Blackjack Institute, a company that provides at-home instructional products and services on how to win at blackjack.  And finally, I am also the owner of SBR Technologies, Inc. and am an expert in using biological processes to destroy hazardous compounds.  I specialize in developing technologies to destroy chemical weapons, an area where I have several patents, and have been published repeatedly in refereed industry journals since 1993.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, a Master’s Degree in Biological Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from Purdue University.  Recently, HBO purchased the rights to my life story for the purpose of creating a drama series based on my blackjack experiences.  I have been a keynote speaker at MIT, Harvard University, New York University, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, ISC West security conference, the Global Gaming Expo, and many other corporate events around the country.
